DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT:

During the main event of the INEX/600 Racing/Legend car race on 6/17/2023 at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway there was an on-track incident involving three cars. One of the cars involved was driven by a 62 year old male. That car impacted an infield concrete retaining wall at full speed. The Bullring Safety Team and Ambulance crew responded immediately to the scene and began assessing the situation. The driver of the #19 car was found unconscious and unresponsive. As the ambulance crew stabilized the driver, the safety team crew deployed two AMKUS hydraulic cutters from the safety truck and used the cutters to quickly and safely remove the roof of the race car. Once the roof was removed the ambulance crew was able to stabilize the drivers neck and extremities and carefully removed the driver and placed him on a backboard and onto a waiting stretcher. The driver was transported by ambulance to UMC, a Level 1 Trauma Center where the driver is currently recovering from multiple injuries and fractures and is in stable condition in the I.C.U.
