Description of Incident:
SATURDAY AUGUST 27, 2016
An elderly driver was extricated from her 2001 Saturn sedan after a one car accident in front of 716 S. West End Avenue in Lancaster Township Saturday afternoon at 2:21pm.
The car was traveling south on S. West End Avenue when the driver swerved and crashed into the rear of a 1996 Dodge Ram pickup truck parked along the street, causing the car to flip onto it’s roof.
Lancaster Township Firefighters used pre-connected Amkus hydraulic spreader and cutter rescue tools on Rescue 66 to remove the driver’s side doors to access the patient.
The patient was removed from the vehicle at 2:45 pm, 14 minutes after arrival.
S. West End Avenue was closed for an hour at Manor Street and Sixth Street by Lancaster Township Fire Police.
