Description of Incident:
The Maytown Fire Department was alerted for a single vehicle crash, vehicle reported to have hit a tree with possible patients trapped. Assistant Fire Chief (Barclay) arrived as the duty officer to find a single vehicle that appeared to roll multiple times and is on its side around a tree. The vehicle did strike a house but no structural damage was done. Upon investigation the D/O found 3 patients to be trapped inside the vehicle with an extensive extrication time due to such entanglement. Rescue 79-1 arrived equipped with the Amkus Ultimate system, putting 4 tools into service immediately. Once stabilization was complete,the above individuals utilized both spreaders, various cutters, and rams to extricate the 3 patients from the vehicle. From the arrival of the 1st Rescue unit till the 3rd patient was in care of EMS was 44 minutes. Crews from were assisted by mutual aid units, Rheems Fire Department and The Marietta Fire Department.
