AT THE TRACK OR ON THE ROAD, TRUST AMKUS RESCUE SYSTEMS

What Sets Us Apart

  1. Truly Made in the USA!

    • AMKUS is an American owned and American operated company.
    • The AMKUS factory for the world is located in Downers Grove, Illinois (about 30 miles outside of Chicago.)
    • AMKUS has invested in high-tech computer-aided machines to increase production and allow us to manufacture innovative designs. We are continually improving existing products and introducing new innovative tools to make extrications safer, faster and easier to perform.
    • We welcome our customers to stop in for a tour and see AMKUS equipment being made.
  2. Control Valve Location

AMKUS locates the control valve parallel to the cylinder. With this compact design the operator can place the tool where they need it to effectively do the job.

    • Length of the tool – The wrap around design of our control valve allows the operator to access cuts in tight spaces and rotate the valve out of harm’s way.
    • Balance- The control valve location allows the user to share the weight of the tool between two hands versus one. This feature is critical when using more substantial cutters like the AMK-22.
    • Hand Position- An operator’s hands stay in sight at all times with the AMKUS control valve which is important as the tools move during operation. Tools with the control valve located at the end of the tool put your hands out of sight and into a compromising position. Our tools can be rotated 180 degrees to move the valve away from potential pinch points allowing the operator to make the desired cut. A valve located at the end of the tool limits the user and forces him to change the angle of the cut or change the technique altogether.
    • Easy turn control valve. Our valve is easy to turn and uses the large muscle groups of the forearm for less fatigue.
  3. Spreader Design (Way different from everyone else)

    • Rack and Pinion Drive- The design of our AMK-24, AMK-30CX and AMK-30CRT spreaders provides a more consistent spreading force from start to finish. Other spreader designs give you maximum spreading force at the end of the spread and minimum at the beginning- the point in which you need maximum force.
    • Angle of maximum spread- The low angle at maximum spread gives you usable surface area on the tips. Other designs open to a more severe angle reducing tip surface contact area and pulling the tool into the work area.
    • The Extended Reach Tips (ERT) in conjuntion with our standard tips give the rescuer more options for techniques such as lifting the dash/steering column etc.
  4. Rotating Handle Cutter

    • Others have tried it, we’ve perfected it. Rescuers waste valuable energy repositioning their hands on a cutter handle. Our unique 360 degree rotating handle found on our Model AMK-21 and AMK-22 Cutters give the user the ability to change the position of the tool without having to let go of the handle. Repositioning requires minimal effort without your hand ever leaving the handle.
  5. Rescue System Supplier of NASCAR

Rescue System Supplier of NASCAR

    • Because of our commitment to quality, we enjoy a relationship with auto racing and are the rescue system of choice for NASCAR, the International Motor Sports Association, International Speedway Corporation and a variety of other racing organizations.
    • While the scenes are different, the tools are the same. The high performance AMKUS extrication tools used by NASCAR, ARCA, IMSA, the International Speedway Corporation Racetracks and many other racetracks are identical to systems being used by rescue squads in cities and towns around the world.
